MODIFIED KEY GENERATION OF BLOWFISH ALGORITHM FOR TEXTUAL AND IMAGE DATA

Abstract


IoT is a word to today’s technical advancement to the digital world.  Thus, not only the data which is marked as crucial, but security of this data is equitably important. This paper attempts to introduce one such way of safeguarding the data with encryption algorithm- Blowfish algorithm. The modification is made to the algorithm base lining the original algorithm and then the results are analyzed to validate the enhancement made. Also, the data set chosen with respect to the IoT raw content to integrate the implementation with the IoT data. It is implemented by altering the Function module ‘F’ and iterations of logic operations followed by the enhancements made in key generation process using this F, making the algorithm highly efficient in terms of efficiency and throughput using MATLAB R2016a. The result is evaluated using the performance parameters chosen to highlight the efficiency and usability of modified algorithm over original algorithm.
