Abstract

Nowadays open source software systems are more popular and plying very important roles in many scientific and business software applications. Most companies are searching for open source software projects and many of them are using this open source projects in their own work. But as a result, open source software is commonly developed with a special management style than the economic ones, the standard and reliableness of the code have to be compelled to be investigated. Hence, a lot of projects have to be compelled to be measured to get info regarding the characteristics and nature of the source code. In this paper, we have discussed the object-oriented metrics given by Chidamber and Kemerer, and few others’ static code for semidetached open source projects. We have shown the relationship between the metrics and defects of the projects. We also showed whether the relationship between the metrics are significant or not. We have been used two open source semidetached datasets for this purpose.
