Abstract

This study attempts to identify the factors that led individuals to take the COVID-19 vaccine, as well as their concerns regarding the vaccine and vaccination campaign. Results indicated that respondents had a favorable impression of the government’s initiative. Where the majority of participants were male, 258 people who got at least one dose of either of the authorized COVID-19 vaccines were included in this study. The Cochran formula was used to determine the sample size. The Sinopharm vaccination was provided to the majority of respondents (51.94%), while 33% received the secondhighest dose of AstraZeneca. Family members have taken the COVID-19 vaccine was the most influencing factors (39.5%) behind taking vaccine. Among other factors: opportunity to receive it for free (33.3%), social responsibility (22.9%), and people found very much optimistic about the vaccination program as well (13.6%). They had no doubts about the vaccine’s availability or authenticity (13.2%). Any immediate reaction after taking the vaccine is also not reported by any of the respondents. The findings from the analysis would be a great help for the government, health care departments and policy makers to make better decisions regarding COVID-19 vaccine.
