Ultra-Wideband Monopole Microstrip Filtenna with Hairpin Structure for Wireless Application

Mohammad Hassan, Rajan Mishra

Abstract

Microstrip filtenna for WiMax/LTE and WLAN band has been proposed and presented. This paper presents design of bandpass filter having hairpin structure which is incorporated into the feedline. The FR4 substrate is used for the proposed antenna. The proposed filtenna has been designed and investigated using HFSS simulator. The proposed filtenna operates at 3.2 GHz. From the simulation results, it is extracted that passband of hairpin filter structure is from 2.7–5.6 GHz. Passband of proposed filtenna having range 2.8–5.6 GHz is achieved. The proposed design shows peak return loss of -28.5943 dB at 3.2 GHz and -16 dB at 4.8 GHz. The proposed filtenna with reduced size and enhanced performance is designed.
