Abstract

COVID-19 and lockdown originally had the effect that the shift in demand curve to the left resulted in "leveling off" the prices of agricultural produce. The reason for this was not the lack of demand due to rising prices. The reason for this was that due to their consumption being limited to homes and lack of workers, most companies were forced to reduce production in their factories. The coronavirus pandemic has knocked in India at a time (February to April) when agricultural and wild products are sold, and farmers receive money. If there is a little amount of money in hand, then a different kind of confidence is seen in rural families. The confidence of most farmers, including Bindravan, who lives in the village of Pupwara in Uttar Pradesh's Mahoba district, is showing deterioration.Agricultural marketing system in rural areas of India is in critical condition. In the absence of proper marketing facilities, farmers have to depend on local traders and intermediaries to sell their farm produce, which would enable them to get the right price for the crop.The issue of inequality in agricultural expenditure and growth drivers must be addressed. Despite the high development in the livestock and fisheries sector, the expenditure on these areas is relatively low. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the expenditure on these areas, given the contribution of the livestock and fisheries sector.
