Green Gesture Control Tractor

Abstract


India being the agricultural country a clean technology for farming can increase the prosperity of farmer and prosperity of the nation at large. Prototype of Green Gesture Control Tractor is designed and developed specially for the farmers. The main objective was plowing, planting, sprinkling of pesticide, harvesting the crop and transportation of crop with least efforts. In Green Gesture Control Tractor, human hand motions are sensed by sensor (ADXL345 accelerometer) and it follows the instruction given by hand of the farmer. As the farmer moves his hand, the accelerometer also senses and moves the parameter according to the position of the hand. An additional wireless IP (Image Processing) camera is attached for surveillance that captures every detail to connected computer or smart phone. In this system, gesture movementsare captured by accelerometer and it is processed by microcontroller (Arduino UNO). These parameters are sent to encoder circuit (12HTE). At the output of encoder circuit, the parameters are available in the form of encoded signal. It is further transmitted by RF433 MHz transmitter module. RF 433 MHz receiver module holds down the received signal and process with decoder circuit (12HTD) and gives those parameters to the Green Gesture Control Tractor so that it acts according to the gesture. It is possible to achieve processing of distance up to approximately 25 meters which can be scaled up in future. Green Gesture Control Tractor is a solar electric tractor. In our prototype we have used permanent magnet DC motor, in actual tractor we can use AC motors or DC Series motor with variable torque. In our prototype we have used 6V and 3.5Ah battery for running the prototype. In Green Gesture Control Tractor, solar panel (6V, 6.12W) is used to charge the battery for saving conventional fuel like diesel. By this solar energy we can use Green Gesture Control Tractor approximately up to half an hour which can be scaled up in future with more efficient batteries and solar PV panels. Green Gesture Control Tractor can be cultivating for an area of approximately 5m2on a single fully charged battery. Green Gesture Control Tractor will be boon to farmers as it can increase the crop with ease and make farmer more efficient and prosperous.
