Abstract

Abstract: This write-up carries the literature review undertaken on the subject of Reed–Solomon (R–S) encoder and decoder. It also provides an overview of the works on R–S encoder and decoder, previously undertaken by other researchers and scholars. It also intends to help other researchers grasp theories regarding Reed–Solomon codes, how the process of encoding and decoding takes place, and how errors are detected and corrected using Reed–Solomon codes.
