CPW feed Flexible Antenna for Wireless Applications

Maitri Kantharia, Arpan Desai, Parthesh Mankodi, Mukul Kantharia

Abstract

Flexible Microstrip CPW Feed Antenna using flexible FR-4 substrate is analyzed and presented over here. The Copper is used as conductive material for patch and CPW feed respectively. The performance in terms of return loss, gain, VSWR and radiation pattern is evaluated. The impedance bandwidth and gain of flexible antenna is 20.25% (2.179 GHz-2.665 GHz), 21.44% (3.232 GHz-4.026 GHz) and 1.4 dBi, 0.009 dBi respectively. The flexible property of the antenna makes it a better choice over other antennas having solid substrate where board space is a constraint. The proposed flexible antenna resonates at 2.4 GHz and 3.7 GHz making it suitable for WLAN and WiMAX applications.
