Abstract

Abstract
Ontology engineering for the plant science is supposed to contribute on the basis of plants traits that determine phenotypic expression in a given environment. Plants play a very important role in the ecological balance and daily necessities in the life. Due to environmental or other causes many of the plants become damaged and hence the investigation of the plant recognition on the basis of diseases is a major research area for the agriculture which can contribute to environmental protection. The proposed work mainly deals with the recognition of plants on the basis of segmentation and feature extraction process to find their diseases, symptoms and cures. To extract and recognise the plants and their features PCA with adaptive k-means; cluster and segmentation has been used. Finally, the performance evaluation shows that the result is quiet optimistic and recognition of plant diseases, symptoms and cures are determined on the various features of plants. Moreover, the positive results obtained from the experiment prove that the proposed model is quiet effective in discriminating and identifying the correct plant corresponding to an input image. Hence, the botanists can safely increase their efforts in the field of agriculture for saving precious plants’ life and improve the quality of human and earth life.
